Dr. Yomtoob earned his Bachelor's of Science in Psychology at The University of California, Los Angeles where he worked intensely with autistic children and received a special certificate in Developmental Disabilities. After graduation, he worked full-time at the NeuroPsychiatric Institute and Hospital in a special education classroom, conducting academic evaluations and instructing behavior disordered students.

He returned to Chicago where he earned his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. After successfully completing several years of supervised training and defending his dissertation with high honors, Dr. Yomtoob graduated in September 2000.

Dr. Yomtoob's training has included helping people effectively cope with serious and chronic mental illness to aiding in adjustment to life transitions. He enjoys working with adolescents, adults and families from diverse backgrounds. Dr. Yomtoob is a member of the American Psychological Association and abides by their Ethical Principles and Standards. He is devoted to personal enhancement centered on three core values. They are:

  • Personal evolution (through insight, education and behavior change)

Currently, Dr. Yomtoob provides individual therapy in his offices in Lincoln Park and The Loop. He has recently contracted as a Consulting Psychologist for the Department of Children and Family Services and works as adjunct faculty at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Yomtoob also proudly donates his services to area non-for-profit community-based organizations.

He has expanded his private practice to Lincoln Park and Loop locations where he provides psychotherapy and coaching. He is also available for speaking engagements.
